An Evening to Remember

It was an evening to remember, on 29 November 2025, when Swami Avatarpuri Ji visited the United Kingdom for the very first time and was invited as special guest speaker to give a lecture at an Interfaith gathering, hosted by St Anne's Brondesbury Anglican church in north-west London

Pujya Swami Avatarpuriji, the official successor of Yoga in Daily Life founder and author, His Holiness Vishwaguru Paramhans Sri Swami Maheshwaranandaji, was visiting London, England, for the first time, and this first visit to the UK brought several other significant 'firsts' as well: it was also the first time that Swami Avatarpuriji delivered a public lecture outside YIDL-related seminars and workshops – and, even more importantly, it marked his first Interfaith event. Judging by the grace and depth with which he carried it out, it surely feels like the first of many more to come.

The Anglican Christian St Anne's Brondesbury church in Queen’s Park, north-west London, had already hosted a remarkable Interfaith gathering with YIDL founder HH Vishwaguruji back in 2006, so the atmosphere for such an occasion was prepared long ago. It felt as though the place had been quietly waiting – first for the young Father Pete to take it under his care, and then for Swami Avatarpuriji to fill it with grace, joy and the unmistakable light that touched every heart present.

Members of the Sri Swami Madhavananda World Peace Council, as well as representatives of several denominations and spiritual traditions, attended the event, which had the theme Peace: Internal and External – at a time when the world faces daily challenges to outer peace. Swami Avatarpuriji’s wisdom, reminding all that inner peace is the foundation upon which society can build outer peace, resonated deeply.

His message echoed the golden teaching of the Guru Parampara,

“All in One and One in All”

the principle of Hindu Dharmsamrat Paramhans Sri Swami Madhavanandaji; as well as Mahatma Gandhi’s timeless guidance:

“Be the change you wish to see in the world.”

It was truly an evening to remember. An evening in which many dozens of hearts were illuminated – becoming ambassadors of light in a time when light is tested daily. May we remain committed to carrying this divine responsibility forward with sincerity and courage.
